Grady White Boats - Strong's Marine

Grady-White is one of the most renowned saltwater boat manufacturers due to their high level of customer satisfaction, quality and satisfaction.

What are Grady-White Boats known for?

Grady-White is known for their classic design and consistency in producing high quality fiberglass boats. Grady-White has won countless awards specifically for their SeaV²® hull performance. This element of Grady-White's design contributes to a smooth and stable ride. In addition to their design and performance, Grady White consistently ranks high in customer satisfaction, safety, and reliability.

Who owns Grady-White? Who Founded Grady-White?

In 1959 Glenn Grady and Don White Founded Grady-White in Greenville, North Carolina. Only nine years later, the two sold the company to Eddie Smith. As the owner and CEO, Smith wanted to stay true on his principle that he wanted to be the best, not necessarily the biggest.

By the 70's, Smith discontinued the mahogany models and developed all fiberglass models. He also acknowledged the need for more space and developed a 150,000 square feet facility across town allowing him to create more styles like dual consoles, walkarounds and center consoles. Later in the 80's, the team paired up with naval architect, C Raymond Hunt to develop the SeaV2 hull. This design became a Grady- White performance signature for its smooth, dry ride and handling.

Smith's vision of “best not biggest” aligned with their commitment to achieve all growth without any debt, which allowed Grady-White to expand sustainability and weather any economic conditions that affected the boating market.

Are Grady-White Boats good?

Grady-White prides themselves on their exceptional attention to details. A combination of elements allow them to "build better boats, every day." They select superior hardware, laminates and design an "unsinkable foam floatation" that other brands may struggle to compete with. Many customers often chose a Grady-White when looking into high quality, reliable safe, fishing boats.

Are Grady-White's foam filled?

Grady-White developed an "unsinkable foam flotation" that offers their customers superior quality not found in other brands. Grady-White is often known for their safety and "unsinkable" nature of their boats. While Grady-White's are often referred to as impossible to sink, it is important to note that we always recommend taking safety precautions when boating and that it may be possible for any boat to sink in poor and dangerous conditions.

How are Grady-White boats built?

During the boat building process, Grady-White craftsmen are essentially building a custom home: installing electrical wiring, plumbing, refrigerators, TVs, stereos, generators, hot water heaters, stoves, micro-waves, and much more. Making sure everything is installed properly is important to make sure that it can withstand a tough ocean environment.

An excellent illustration of Grady-White's commitment to great craftsmanship and durability is the incorporation of PVC rigging tubes within the hull and deck. These tubes extend from the helm to the fore and aft, providing enhanced protection, effortless rigging, and convenient maintenance for their esteemed boats.
