In August, Congressman Anthony D’Esposito visited Strong’s Marine at our Freeport location, where he and Jeff Strong, President of Strong’s Marine, discussed important issues affecting the local marine industry. This visit provided Representative D’Esposito and Strong's Marine President, Jeff Strong, with a valuable opportunity to engage with each other about the local marine industry. Congressman D'Esposito and Jeff Strong discussed key issues impacting small businesses and marine retailers.

Touring Strong's at Grover's

During the visit, Representative D’Esposito toured the facility, taking a comprehensive look at the various departments and operations that make up Strong’s at Grover's. Jeff Strong of Strong's Marine and Dante Grover of Al Grover's have strategically partnered to offer their premium brands at Strong's at Grover's in Freeport, NY. With deep roots in the marine industry, these two family-owned businesses provide a unique and experienced perspective on the marine sector.  Representative D' Esposito interacted with staff members, gaining insights into the high standards of service for which Strong’s Marine is known.

D'Esposito engaged in in-depth conversations with Jeff Strong and Dante Grover about the significant economic influence of the marine industry in New York’s 4th district. They discussed how the industry supports local employment, contributes to the regional economy, and fosters community engagement through recreational boating activities.

Proposed Legislation

Representative D’Esposito also had the chance to gain firsthand knowledge about the challenges and opportunities in the recreational boating industry, including the proposed Right Whale Vessel Speed Rule, the growth of the marine workforce, and the essential need for Federal fisheries and navigational information to be available digitally for recreational boaters while at sea.  As the Chairman of the MRAA, Jeff Strong recently addressed the proposed legislation in Washington D.C.

Representative D'Esposito’s Comments

“After Jeff testified in support of my bill, the MAPOceans Act during a hearing in the House Committee on Natural Resources in June, I knew I had to visit and spend some time with Jeff in his element. Strong’s Marine at Grover’s is a cornerstone of our community, contributing to both our local economy and to the joy of countless families who enjoy time on the water.”

“It’s important that we support businesses like this that not only create jobs but also enrich our way of life. I look forward to continuing to work with Jeff and his team as I focus on how to support the 4th district’s recreational marine industry and boating enthusiasts alike."

This location combines the exceptional customer service, sales expertise, and diverse range of vessels and resources from both Strong’s Marine and Al Grover’s, offering the finest boating experience in Nassau County and the five boroughs.
