Christian Gott, the talented lead concept designer at Fairline Yachts, a British luxury motor yacht manufacturer offered at Strong's Yachts, has recently been honored with the prestigious title of Designer of the Year at the highly esteemed Boat Builder Awards held at METSTRADE in Amsterdam. Strong's Yachts is an authorized dealer for Fairline in the Northeast. If you haven't had the chance to witness the beauty of Fairline yachts at our Yacht shows or at one of our locations, be sure to take a closer look and admire these designs.
The Judges on the panel keenly deliberated these finalists. What set Christian Gott apart was how he rose through the ranks at Fairline. Over the course of his 14 years he started as a boatbuilder apprentice, then on his own accord he studied for a design degree and was appointed as Lead Concept Designer. Currently, he holds the significant responsibility of creating the sleek and stunning designs for Fairline Yachts' most recent releases, including the remarkable Squadron 58.
Christian was up against stiff competition with designers from Rand Boats, TYDE and HH Catamarans. In addition to this award Christian took home awards in previous years for being a large contributor to the styling of the brand’s latest models, including the Squadron 68 launched in 2022, the Phantom 65 the same year and the new Squadron 58 launched at this year’s Southampton International Boat Show. Adding to the excitement, the upcoming Boot Düsseldorf in January will mark the world debut of the highly anticipated Targa 40. This incredible addition joins the Squadron 58 as another groundbreaking achievement for Christian Gott and his exceptional concept design team.
Christian expressed his gratitude and excitement about winning the award.: “To be recognized for the work I’m so passionate about is fantastic and I’d like to thank those who were part of the judging process and congratulate the others shortlisted in this category.
Christian Gott collaborated on the Fairline Squadron 58
The Squadron 58 stands proudly on the shoulders of its predecessors, carrying forward all the design cues synonymous with a Squadron in a modern and progressive way.
The expansive flybridge provides multiple seating and sunbathing options, all styled to integrate together to create that all important flow and balance while sheltering under the opening hardtop. The exterior lines are both dynamic and elegant that preserve the timeless look of a Squadron, while the three fins adorn the panoramic saloon windows as its badge of distinction.
But it is in the cockpit where the Squadron 58 will take your breath away. Folding balconies, an extending platform and free-standing seating creates the space usually found on an 80' yacht, while the glass transom seamlessly connects you with your environment. The angled patio door invites you into the saloon, the aft galley opens up not only to the cockpit bar but also to the balcony, so cooking on board has never been so sociable. Raised up one step, the saloon is perfectly positioned to soak in the scenery through the large frameless windows that also provide sweeping views from the helm.
Below decks the flow of the bulkheads connect each of the cabins, which are ample in size and refined with details. Discrete lighting providing the mood and fluted panels offer a splash of opulence.
The Squadron 58 is no ordinary flybridge, it will surprise and delight you with its capacity to give so much more than you expect of a yacht of this size. The Squadron 58 is currently in route to Strong's Yacht, call to learn more about Fairline and yachts available at 631.709.1108.
