President of Strong's Marine and Chairman of MRAA, Jeff Strong, visits Washington D.C. to partake in the Outdoor Recreation Roundtable. 

On May 7th, the Outdoor Recreation Roundtable (ORR) hosted a groundbreaking CEO-level Forum in Washington, D.C. This exclusive event is set to bring together top executives and decision-makers from diverse sectors of the outdoor recreation industry, creating a platform for collaboration, innovation, and strategic planning. 

This event shows ORR's dedication to bringing together industry leaders and government officials, providing a space for ideas to flourish. By targeting key industry challenges and capitalizing on opportunities, this conference is positioned to drive collaborative strategies forward. The gathering of these industry leaders signifies a pivotal moment in advancing the collective goals and initiatives of the outdoor recreation community.

The agenda included important topics including:

• Meeting the New Customer Outside through inclusion, Infrastructure & Innovation - focused on the needs of current and future outdoor recreation participants. This topic touched on new services & amenities at marinas.
• Future of Recreation Funding Report - discussed the ORR study to better understand the federal spending on outdoor recreation, overall trends and issues that might impact funding.
• The state of the Outdoor Recreation Economy - explored the landscape of the 2024 recreational economy.
• Recreation Industry's Path to Sustainability - highlighted sustainability best practices as well promoting innovation and collaboration across outdoor businesses.
• Healthy Land, Water, People & Communities - exploring the connection between experiences on health lands and water that ultimately contribute to positive physical, mental and societal impacts.
