Few places capture fall quite like the **North Fork of Long Island**. As the weather cools, local farms and orchards come alive with apple picking, pumpkin patches, corn mazes, cider donuts and plenty of reasons to spend a crisp fall day outside.

Whether you are planning a family outing, a fall date or an entire weekend out east, here are some of the best places for **pumpkin and apple picking on the North Fork** this fall.

## Harbes Orchard | Riverhead

For a full day of fall activities, **Harbes Orchard in Riverhead** is a great place to start.

The 78-acre orchard features 27 varieties of apples, with trees designed to keep the fruit within easy reach for pickers of all ages. For the 2026 season, Harbes is offering both apple and pumpkin picking along with its Robin Hood themed corn maze, kids' activities and live music on weekends and holidays.

**Location:** 5698 Sound Avenue, Riverhead

**Good for:** Apple picking, pumpkin picking, corn maze, family activities and a full fall day out

## Harbes Farms | Jamesport

If Honeycrisp apples are your favorite, add **Harbes Farms Jamesport** to your fall itinerary.

The Jamesport location features acres of Honeycrisp apple trees along with pumpkin picking, hayrides, a corn maze, seasonal treats and live music. The farm is open weekends and holidays through November 1 for the 2026 fall season.

**Location:** 1223 NY-25, Jamesport

**Good for:** Honeycrisp apple picking, pumpkins, hayrides and family activities

It is an easy stop to build into a day spent making your way farther east along the North Fork.

## Woodside Orchards | Jamesport & Aquebogue

For a more laid-back apple-picking experience, head to **Woodside Orchards**.

This family-run North Fork orchard grows 28 varieties of apples throughout the season. Its Jamesport location offers U-Pick on weekends, while apple picking at the Aquebogue location is available on weekdays. The varieties available for picking change as different apples reach peak ripeness.

**Jamesport:** 116 Manor Lane, Jamesport  
**Aquebogue:** 729 Main Road, Aquebogue

**Good for:** Apple picking, cider, baked goods and a relaxed fall afternoon

Woodside is especially worth considering if cider donuts are an essential part of your apple-picking trip.

## Wickham's Fruit Farm | Cutchogue

Continue east to Cutchogue for one of the North Fork's classic orchard experiences.

**Wickham's Fruit Farm** offers seasonal U-Pick apples along with a farm stand featuring cider, baked goods and other locally grown favorites. Apple picking traditionally takes place on Saturdays, with availability changing throughout the harvest season.

**Good for:** Traditional apple picking, cider, farm-fresh treats and classic North Fork scenery

Wickham's location also makes it easy to continue your day through Cutchogue, Peconic, Southold and Greenport.

## Krupski's Pumpkin Farm | Peconic

For another classic **North Fork pumpkin-picking** stop, head to **Krupski's Pumpkin Farm in Peconic**.

A longtime family farm on the North Fork, Krupski's is a great place to embrace the simple traditions of fall. Visitors can pick out pumpkins and gourds, explore the farm and stock up on seasonal favorites while enjoying the surrounding Peconic farmland.

The farm stand is also worth a stop for fresh local produce, fall decorations and other seasonal finds.

## Stakey's Pumpkin Farm | Aquebogue

For a classic North Fork pumpkin-picking experience, make a stop at **Stakey's Pumpkin Farm in Aquebogue**.

With a sprawling pumpkin field and plenty of fall fun, Stakey's is a favorite for families looking to pick their own pumpkins right from the vine. Visitors can head out into the field to search for the perfect pumpkin while enjoying the crisp fall weather and classic North Fork farm scenery.

Beyond pumpkin picking, Stakey's offers plenty to make a day of your visit, including a corn maze, hayrides, seasonal photo opportunities and a farm stand with fall favorites.

## Lewin Farms | Calverton

If you want both **pumpkin picking and apple picking**, Lewin Farms is another North Fork favorite.

This fourth-generation family farm offers a traditional pick-your-own experience, with apples, pumpkins, gourds and other produce available depending on the season and current harvest. A corn maze is also open on weekends and holidays during the fall.

## Make a Day of Your North Fork Fall Trip

The best part about **apple and pumpkin picking on the North Fork** is everything you can experience along the way.

After visiting the orchards, continue east for a walk down **Love Lane in Mattituck**, visit a local winery, browse the shops in Greenport or stop for lunch at one of the area's many farm-to-table restaurants.

The drive itself is part of the experience. Sound Avenue and Main Road take you past vineyards, farm stands and open fields through some of the North Fork's most scenic communities.
