Our Journey: 80 Years of Excellence
What began as Strong & Holland Marina in Lindenhurst has grown into a premier marine dealership serving the Northeast. From Dave and Dottie Strong establishing Strong’s Marine in Mattituck in 1965 to Jeff and Re Strong expanding our reach and setting new standards, we’ve never lost sight of what matters most—our customers, our team, and our passion for boating. Now led by Jeff Strong, President, and Ryan Strong, Vice President, Strong’s Marine proudly represents the industry’s top brands, including Cobalt, Regal, Pursuit, Grady-White, Cobia, Cruisers Yachts, and Fairline.

Milestones Through the Decades
1945-1970s: Humble Beginnings and Growth

1945: Stewart Strong and Sid Holland establish Strong & Holland, a marina and dealership in Copiague, among the first in the U.S. to market Evinrude Motors.

1965: Dave and Dolores Strong acquire the first Strong’s Marine property on James Creek in Mattituck Bay, laying the foundation for the Strong family legacy.

1972: The Strong’s Marine Center opens on Route 25 in Mattituck, marking the beginning of high-performance water sports and boat sales. Jeff runs this store every afternoon for two years while in high school as his work study program.
1980s-1990s: Development & Expansion

1988: Strong’s Marine merges with Marineland but regains independence in 1992 when Jeff and Re Strong repurchase the Mattituck Bay Marina.

1994: Strong’s becomes the exclusive Pursuit dealer for Long Island and NYC, establishing long-standing manufacturer relationships.

1996: Strong’s launches its boat rental service, increasing accessibility to boating for more families.
2000s: Growth into a Premier Marine Destination

2000: Expansion into the Hamptons with the acquisition of Strong’s Marine Southampton Showroom and Marina.

2006: Becomes the exclusive Cobalt Boats dealer for Long Island and NYC, solidifying a stronghold in the premium boating market.

2013: Strong’s acquires the former Matt-A-Mar Marina, transforming it into Strong’s Water Club & Marina, a premier boating destination with resort-style amenities.
2015-Present: Strong’s Marine & Strong’s Yachts

2016: Establishes Strong’s Yacht Center, a premier yacht service center in Mattituck.

2019: Named the exclusive Cruisers Yachts dealer for New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

2021: Expands into marina management with Atlantique by Strong’s & Grovers on Fire Island.

2022: Becomes the exclusive Fairline Yachts dealer for the Northeast, further strengthening its presence in the luxury yacht market.

In 2016, Strong’s Marine teamed up with Grady-White to introduce their renowned brand to Nassau County and the Five Boroughs. We proudly showcase this brand at our Port Washington location and through our collaboration with Al Grover’s High and Dry Marina.
