Looking to sell, broker or trade your boat this year?
Here are 7 tips for getting top dollar and keeping things hassle free!
Strong’s Marine wants to help you find the right boat for you, and can help you sell, broker or trade your boat to make that happen. Unlike many dealerships, Strong’s Marine WILL BUY YOU OUT OF YOUR LOAN and issue you a check for your positive equity.
Here’s a checklist of things that will get you into your dream boat ASAP:
1. Gather all important documents — proof of ownership, insurance, warranty, and lien information — and keep in an owner’s pack.
2. Maximize your value by including receipts of equipment you’ve upgraded on the boat, like a new Garmin.
3. Find out about your motor — year, make, model, horsepower, engine serial numbers and hours, as well as the last date of service, if you’ve had risers or manifolds done — and gather the accompanying receipts.
4. If there are any, address any issues with your boat right away. It helps us sell your boat more quickly or accept it as a trade if we understand any problems right away.
5. If your boat is being stored on a site that is not associated with Strong’s Marine, check the storage contract. Many marinas do not allow outside marinas to show a boat.
6. Take pictures of your boat in the water before it is wrapped and stored! Pictures out on the water are great for listing photos so we can have a new buyer envision themselves on the water.
7. Get the boat detailed before you have it stored for the winter. Everyone likes to be shown a pretty boat!
