Fourth of July activities for Boaters - Long Island
There's no better day than the Fourth of July to hit the water! Explore some of Long Island's top events and make a splash this holiday.
Fourth of July Tips & Tricks
Fourth of July is a time to celebrate and do so safely. Before heading out the following events, make sure to prioritize everyone's safety by abiding by the following.
- Ensure proper quantity of life jackets are on the boat - Ensure that there is an adequate supply of life jackets on board for every passenger in case of an emergency.
- Firework Safety - Watching fireworks on board can significantly increase the risk in an already hazardous situation. It's best to enjoy a nearby firework show rather than creating your own onboard.
- Fire Extinguishers - Ensure that your fire extinguisher is in proper working condition, especially with the abundance of firework shows. Safety should always be a top priority.
- Do NOT Drink & Drive - Extra law enforcement officers are on high alert on the waterways during special events, such as fireworks shows. If you plan to partake in festivities, make sure to appoint a designated sober skipper for safety.
